DVLA regulations state, that because parts from a wide variety of sources were used in the build of this MEK it had to be registered on a ‘Q’ plate and deemed ‘kit built’. However, we would respectfully disagree - kit cars are just like your old Airfix kits, you buy the kit and assemble it to produce a finished piece. This was hand built from the ground up by one very talented engineer. The full story is outlined in two editions of the magazine ‘Complete Kit Car’ from June and July 2014. Unfortunately we do not have the space to include the articles here but we do have copies of the magazine in the history file that we would encourage you to view.

The engineer in question is Mick Keeley, who once worked for the manufacturer Westfield known for their Lotus Seven replicas. But Mick didn’t want a replica, the Lotus was obviously his inspiration, but this is built to his own exacting specification. The quality of welding, the quality of panel production, the engine are all outstanding. Above and beyond Mick’s undoubted skills, is his attention to detail, nothing falls into the ‘that’ll do’ category, everything has been thought about and executed with precision and intent. Here’s a small example, you see those sculptured cycle wings, Mick made them using a superbike tyre as a mould, ingenious.

We could go on, there is much more to tell, but to appreciate this hand built motor car fully, you must see it for yourself, we doubt you’ll be disappointed!
