Continuing the legacy of the famed GT40, the new-for-2017 Ford GT was also first designed for racing and then later adapted into a street car. Crucially, this model would help the brand re-establish itself in competitive racing with a double-podium finish at the 2016 24 Hours of Le Mans, 50 years to the day after the original GT40 first won the world's greatest endurance race. Developed by a small but carefully selected team of engineers, the GT was designed in total secrecy, hidden deep within the Ford Product Development Center where they would deliver a highly advanced carbon fiber monocoque chassis featuring advanced aerodynamics.
Having proven the race-worthiness of their new flagship model before a road-going example had entered production, the new Ford GT received an avalanche of demand resulting in the infamous application process which required interested parties to provide a taped interview and answer a series of questions to be considered. After reportedly receiving nearly 6,500 applications, only 1,350 fortunate applicants were contacted by the Ford Concierge Service to begin the highly unique process of ordering their new vehicle. This incredibly personalized buying experience was completed with a specialized hand-over process where a Ford Concierge Service member walked the buyer through the systems after ensuring that the vehicle was ready for delivery. Featuring a highly advanced aerodynamic exterior, the Ford GT utilizes functional design elements that not only look incredible, but also serve a valuable purpose to the vehicle's performance. It is powered by a twin-turbocharged 3.6-liter EcoBoost V6 initially unveiled with 647 horsepower.
This 2020 Ford GT is presented in a striking black on black color combination and ordered with several premium, highly desirable options. Its exquisite Shadow Black finish is stripe-free and is instead bolstered by the optional Exterior Carbon Fiber Package in Gloss-originally costing $20,800 CAD. Its clandestine exterior is modestly contrasted by 20-inch forged aluminum wheels finished in Satin Silver with Titanium lug nuts, along with red brake calipers. The all-black theme continues into the cockpit, which is furnished with the rare Dark Energy Interior Package that adds a mélange of Ebony leather and Alcantara trim. Its detailed window sticker rounds out the $35,000 CAD (nearly $25,000 USD) options list with six-point racing harness anchors and an Akrapovič Titanium Exhaust system.
Delivered new to Brown Bros Ford Lincoln Sales in Vancouver, British Colombia, this example was sold to its first owner in July 2020 according to its clean CARFAX Vehicle History Report. The car remained with its original owner in Surrey, B.C., until it was sold in April 2024 and imported to the United States; then registered in Blaine, Washington State.
This well-optioned 2020 Ford GT has covered only 1,242 miles at cataloging and was serviced in April 2026 at Galpin Ford in Los Angeles, California. It is offered today with its original delivery items including Ford GT owner's manual pouch, branded bag with car cover, and battery charger.
Stealthily configured in Shadow Black over the rare Dark Energy interior and equipped with an exceptional suite of factory options, this Ford GT is a thoughtfully understated interpretation of Ford's cutting-edge supercar; striking an ideal balance of menace and sophistication. Further distinguished by extraordinarily low mileage and careful stewardship from new, this example is equally suited to private collections, highly curated collector car gatherings, or the historic racetrack for which it was engineered.
