- The term 'practical classic' was tailor-made for such a car
This is one of the last of the E30 models produced, as production ceased in 1993, when it was replaced by the E36. However, the E30 remains the iconic BMW of the 90s; handsome, elegant and practical, seating for four full size people, a boot that would take the luggage of those people, especially in Touring guise - it wasn’t too big nor too small and drove better than anything else in its class.
First registered in the UK on 20th October 1993 and finished in Black with Grey Cloth, this Touring iteration of the 1993 3 -Series offering from BMW was appointed with air-conditioning, a sunroof and alloy wheels in Lux guise. The vendor describes the general appearance and condition as ‘very good to good’. With only 5 former keepers, the book pack is present along with the service book containing 14 stamped entries, 8 of which have been recorded with a main dealer.

The maintenance history also records three annual BMW checks in 1994, 1995, and 1997. In addition we understand there has been work that has included: a new clutch slave cylinder, new rear shock absorber top mounts, the heater blower has also been replaced, the brakes have been recently bled, and the wheel alignment has been carried out. Additionally, a new throttle cable has been installed.
The paperwork is quite extensive and well organised, comprising two large folders of historical documentation. This includes old MOT certificates, expired tax discs, and invoices for work carried out, alongside the original service book and complete book pack.
The car retains its original windscreen and windows, all of which feature period-correct number plate etching. It sits on bronze powder-coated wheels fitted with Alpina centre caps, although these have not been painted. The windows are tinted, adding to the overall appearance.
The bodywork presents well, with no evident rust apart from a minor area on one wheel arch, likely a result of the car having previously been lowered. It is fitted with an aftermarket exhaust in an OEM-style German design.
Inside, a dash cover has been installed to conceal cracks in the dashboard; while the damage is not severe, the cover significantly improves the interior presentation. The front arches show slight bowing, again due to the car having been lowered in the past, and touch-up paint is included. At the rear, the headliner has begun to sag, and the sunroof panel shows internal staining. A quotation of £500 has been obtained to have this re-lined. It is offered with a V5 and the aforementioned history.
