Fiat and Abarth are often mentioned in the same breath. And that is logical: shortly after its founding in 1949, Abarth quickly focused on racing. A special kit with a matching exhaust was designed for the Fiat Topolino, among others. And it was precisely with the production of exhausts that Abarth became big: brands such as Alfa Romeo, Ferrari, and Maserati became customers of the exhausts Abarth produced. When Fiat introduced the 600, Abarth was quick to install a more powerful engine in the car. The goal: to create an affordable small sports car. Many racing successes were achieved with this car, which was called the Abarth 750.
Following the introduction of the Fiat 500, an Abarth version was inevitable. And it was precisely with this small car that the brand became big. Racing remained an important part of its activities. The brand frequently participated in the famous Mille Miglia, usually with considerable success. In 1961, Abarth even competed in the 24 Hours of Le Mans and won in its class. But as was often the case in the past, more time was spent racing than achieving victory. When the company ran into financial difficulties, Fiat took it over. By the 90s, there was little left of Abarth other than a sticker on the Cinquecento and Seicento. However, in 2007, Fiat decided to reintroduce the Abarth brand. A new factory was built in Turin, sporty models based on the 500 rolled off the production line again, and Abarth was once again a distinct brand, just like in its early years.
The sporty Abarths are therefore inextricably linked to the Fiat 500. The car we are pleased to offer is a 2018 595 Edizione Mille Miglia. The base engine for the 595 is a 1.4 T-Jet engine delivering 180 hp. However, the engine in 'our' 595 has been tuned and produces an impressive 248 hp. Furthermore, the car is equipped with larger front and rear brakes, a sports exhaust, and a sportier suspension, among other features. With that, it rightfully deserves to wear the Abarth badge. The car is painted in Rosso Abarth and features striking stripes. The interior features black bucket seats with red piping; the car does not have a rear bench seat. An alarm system and a Bearlock transmission lock have been installed as extras.
The Abarth has driven 57.899 km, but many fast kilometers still lie ahead for the new owner. We would be happy to invite you for a meet and greet!
