- In the early 2000s, Ducati wanted to reconnect with its heritage after years focused on aggressive superbikes like the 916 and Monster. The company’s design chief, Pierre Terblanche, developed the SportClassic family as a modern reinterpretation of Ducati’s famous bevel-drive twins from the 1970s and the 'Classic' was born
- Still thought by many as one of the most attractive Ducati's ever built and they remain desirable and very collectable
- The 1000S is defined by its large Dunstall-style upper fairing and round headlight, which mimics 1970s endurance race bikes and was the only bike in the range to feature a fairing
- Powered by a 992cc air-cooled 90° L-twin, 2-valve Desmodromic generating 92bhp and 67.3lb/ft of torque
- The 2007 and 2008 production years were delivered exclusively in red with a white racing stripe, however, the final 2009 production year introduced black as an option
- This example was purchased new from Ducati Aylesbury in 2010 and has led a cosseted life with only 1,912 miles from new. It was used sparingly by our vendor up until 2017 (last MOT and service) and has been stored since with the occasional start-up to bring the bike up to temperature. He has decided to reduce his collection and has therefore decided to sell the bike
- Supplied with a current V5C, some old MOTs, its original purchase invoice, and service invoices (all Ducati main dealer), along with the owners book pack and spare keys
- Will require some light recommissioning prior to road use
