Few cars in automotive history need as little introduction as Jaguar's E-Type. Celebrated for decades as one of the greatest and most beautiful cars ever made, it has earned a permanent place in the collector car world, with fine examples found in prestigious collections as well as everyday garages.

Jaguar refined the E-Type steadily throughout its production run, resulting in many variations across the series. Opinions vary on which variant is the most enjoyable to drive, but most enthusiasts agree that the Series 1, with its covered headlamps and graceful lines, is the purest of them all. The Roadster remains one of the most enduring favorites, delivering the quintessential open-air British driving experience.

Delivered new through Jaguar of Eastern Canada in Montreal in July 1962, this Jaguar E-Type Series 1 3.8 Roadster, chassis number 877650, is confirmed by its Jaguar Heritage Trust Production Record as having been originally finished in Opalescent Dark Blue over a red leather interior with a blue soft top, a specification it still wears today.

For over 50 years, the car is said to have remained in Canada. Its second owner is said to have commissioned a full restoration in the late 1980s, respecting the car's original colors, before passing it on to its third owner in 1988. It is reported to have been subsequently acquired by its fourth owner in 1996, who is said to have kept it in display condition at the Musée du Domaine in Quebec. The car was later sold in 2014 and serviced by Milo European Car Specialist in Vancouver, before being resold in 2015.

Part of its current U.S. collection since 2021, the car is presented in attractive condition, well dialed in, retaining its matching engine block and head. It preserves all the hallmarks of the highly desirable Series 1 specification, including its beautifully pure and uncluttered lines, manual transmission, aviation-inspired aluminum dashboard, and bucket seats. It is further equipped with chrome wire wheels and offered with a matching spare wheel and tool kit, and is accompanied by the aforementioned Jaguar Heritage Trust Production Record.
