After nearly 60 years of strictly producing four-wheeled automobiles, Morgan Motor Company revived their beloved tricycle designs with the aptly named 3 Wheeler. Introduced at the 2011 Geneva Motor Show, the Morgan 3 Wheeler wore its inspirations on its aluminum “bullet” hull; taking its styling equally from a medley of World War I fighter planes and the belly tank racers that dominated the dry lake beds of Southern California. Vintage war bird continued details included its twin side-exist exhaust outlets, “bomb release” starter button, and vintage-style tube type wheels.
A 2.0-liter S&S V-Twin engine sat proudly on display between the front wheels, sending 83 horsepower to the back tire through an engaging five-speed manual transmission from the Mazda MX-5. This was more than enough for a vehicle weighing just 1,159 pounds dry; enabling an estimated zero-to-sixty time of under six seconds and a top speed of 115 mph. The Morgan 3 Wheeler was homologated as a motorcycle in the United States, but its appearance was unlike anything seen on modern roads.
This 2018 Morgan 3 Wheeler is classically finished in Sport Green with a contrasting Sport Grey stripe and red accents on the hood. The cockpit features exquisite Yarwood BRK Honey leather upholstery and Cream quilted stitching. Built in June 2018, this example was delivered to authorized Morgan dealer Northshore Sports Cars in Lake Buff, Illinois.
