Here we have possibly one of the finest examples of the Ford Escort XR3i on the market today. Finished in Diamond white with Shadow trim, it has the correct specification of alloy wheels, sunroof, spots and rear spoiler. It is blessed not have any extra speaker holes, but does have a car phone that was believed to be fitted from new and therefore very period. The XR3i was supplied new by Keith Motors (Christchurch) Limited on 12/1/1991 to its first owner, a Mr Batterick of Wimborne, Dorset, who kept it for 32 years until it came into the ownership of our vendor in January 2023. He is only selling it, very reluctantly, because he doesn’t use it (as the mileage would indicate) and he wants it to go to a good home that will cherish it as he has.

As you go around the Escort, you see little telltale signs that this really is a special example; things like the original rear dealer sticker, a matching set of Continental tyres, highly original and unmolested and it still has that ‘new car’ smell and feel about it, which all indicates how good this Escort is. The service history is amazing and includes a folder full of invoices and previous MOTs, all backing up the mileage of 72,000 which is believed to be genuine. We have a full book pack with all the relevant paperwork that was supplied with a new Ford back in the day including an owner’s manual and a service book containing 14 stamps, all from Ford main dealers. We also have a HPi, which as you would expect is clear, along with all the re-issued V5s and ownership details. Bearing in mind there has only ever been two owners in total, which is quite amazing for a XR3i as usually they have multiple owners, making this example quite unique and rare.

This XR3i is worthy of closer inspection to see how good it is, as one thing for sure, this is possibly one of the finest examples currently on the market.
