The practical Tourer (Estate) version of the Rover 75 is arguably a modern classic with practical attributes. The load area was one of the largest in its class at launch. Rover released the Ian Callum-designed Estate body style of the 75, in July 2001. Callum had designed the DB7 for Aston Martin. The tailgate featured an optional opening rear glass section.
First registered on 20th September 2004 and finished in what is believed to be Pearlescent Odyssey Blue Green complemented with a Grey cloth upholstery. The car is equipped with a Getrag 5-speed manual gearbox mated to its 2-litre diesel engine, with BMW parentage. At launch, it promised 115bhp and very good fuel economy. With two recorded former keepers, this Tourer has been in its current ownership for five years, having previously been in long-term ownership with its second keeper for in excess of 15 years. Factory options include air-conditioning, ABS, alloy wheels, power-assisted steering, and electric seats. It has also been retrofitted with a tow-bar. The vendor describes the condition as ‘fair’ with a sagging headliner, very common on this era of Rover 75, some scuffs and wear around the car – Please see the photographs.
In terms of maintenance, it was fitted with two new tyres in March 2026, and a new rear wheel bearing was installed in September 2025. The service history is documented through invoices, as the original service book is not present.
The car was serviced on 22nd August 2025 at 120,146 miles by L&D Stanley Motor Vehicle Engineers. Prior to this, it was serviced on 29th September 2024 at 110,811 miles, as well as on 4th September 2023 at 102,290 miles and 31st August 2022 at 93,056 miles, all carried out by L&D Stanley Motor Vehicle Engineers. An earlier service was completed on 27th November 2020 at 77,952 miles by J&C Auto Repair & Service.
C.2020 (before the vendor’s ownership), this car was declared a ‘Cat N’ by an insurance company, due to minor damage to the offside headlight (‘Cat N’ - declared a total loss by an insurer due to non-structural damage but can be legally repaired and returned to the road). The is the least serious type of insurance write-off. The car was then bought at auction and restored by a reputable car dealer from whom he bought the car in March 2021. While there is a ‘Cat N’ on record, this is a brief part of the car's history and the vendor states ‘it has had no effect at all on its road-worthiness, insurance premiums or driving performance in his 5-year ownership of it’.
With an MOT until 21st September 2026, the 75 Tourer is offered with a quantity of service and MOT invoices on file, some Rover manuals, the spare tyre, jacks and some tools etc are present as is a handbook and 2 keys. An Ian Callum-designed modern classic offered at ‘no reserve’, with a large load space and fuel economy.
