Owing its name to the fabled 500 and 250 Testa Rossa race cars of the 1950s, Ferrari's latest flagship made its debut under the dazzling lights of the Lido Nightclub ahead of the 1984 Paris Salon. The Testarossa replaced the outgoing Boxer series, and with it, the razor-sharp wedge profile of its predecessor. It now featured a more soft-edged, aerodynamic shape. The iconic side door intakes channeled air to the 5.0-liter 'flat' V12, which produced a production car record output of 380-horsepower and boasted a top speed of 290 km/h. It was also the most civilized Ferrari of its day, with luxury touches including air conditioning, power-adjustable seats, a tilting steering wheel, and acres of leather lining the interior. With excellent drivability mated to impressive performance, it is easy to see why the Testarossa has commanded the attention of collectors since its release.
Completed in March 1991 and delivered new through Maranello Sports Cars of Ontario, Canada, this Testarossa was originally supplied to an Italian owner residing in Ontario, where the car remained until 2013, according to the accompanying CARFAX Vehicle History Report. The report records no accident history, with only a minor mileage discrepancy noted, believed to be the result of a clerical error. During its Canadian ownership, the car was maintained by both an authorized Ferrari dealer and D&J Automotive of Woodbridge, Ontario.
The Testarossa was imported to the United Kingdom in 2014, where it continued to benefit from attentive care. Its accompanying Warranty and Service Book, issued on 7 June 1991, documents regular maintenance throughout its life and contains service stamps at 8,527 kilometers by original Ferrari dealer, at 23,284 kilometers by SB Race Engineering in England in 2021, and at 24,308 kilometers by Special Car S.p.A.
Further supporting the car's well-documented mileage and maintenance history is a file of invoices spanning nearly two decades. In 2006, servicing was carried out by Modena Sports Cars in Toronto. In 2021, the car was entrusted to Ferrari specialist SB Race Engineering in England for a major service including timing-belt replacement and the scheduled 18,000-kilometer maintenance. Later that year, additional work was completed by official Ferrari service center Motor Service in Modena, Italy.
More recently, Special Car S.p.A., an official Ferrari dealer in Italy, has continued the car's maintenance. In 2024, the dealership performed a comprehensive service that included timing-belt replacement, the fitting of four new tires, and other routine maintenance items. Last year, they carried out an extensive overhaul of the fuel-injection system together with a carburation revision.
Finished in the classic color scheme of Red Rosso Corsa with a very nice tan leather interior and accompanied by its Warranty and Service Book, CARFAX Report, maintenance invoices, and an MOT valid through September 2026, this Testarossa presents a compelling opportunity to acquire one of Ferrari's definitive modern classics, benefiting from remarkably low mileage and a well-documented history.
