A rare opportunity to acquire a largely original and increasingly collectible Vauxhall Calibra 16V, finished in Silver with Black leather interior and benefitting from exceptionally low ownership together with a substantial history file dating back to its early years. First registered in 1995, this example remains an appealing survivor from the era of Vauxhall’s distinctive aerodynamic coupe. Powered by the marque’s responsive 16-valve engine and paired with a desirable five-speed manual gearbox, the Calibra earned a reputation as one of the most stylish and usable coupes of the 1990s. With its sleek profile, pillarless side glass and refined driving manners, the model has become increasingly sought after as surviving examples become notably scarce.

This particular example has had just one former keeper from new and displays 97,445 miles. The interior presents especially well, with the vendor advising that the seats and carpets remain in notably good condition. Factory equipment includes leather upholstery, alloy wheels, electric sunroof, ABS and power steering, all contributing to the well-equipped period specification. Accompanying the Calibra is an impressive history file containing service and maintenance invoices spanning almost the entirety of its life. Records show consistent servicing throughout the late 1990s and 2000s, with documented mileage progression including services at 20,100 miles in 1996, 40,051 miles in 1998, 59,447 miles in 2000, 77,725 miles in 2006 and 95,569 miles in 2016. The history file also includes previous MOT certificates, parts invoices and supporting maintenance documentation. Significant expenditure was undertaken during 2022 totalling over £3,400, including welding repairs to both quarter panels, the driver’s side wheel arch and front wheel tub area, together with repainting to the door shuts, underside corrosion treatment, replacement windscreen and sunroof rebuilding work. A replacement battery was also fitted during the same year.

The vendor advises the paintwork presents well overall, although age-related imperfections remain including some marks to the paintwork, blemishes to the alloy wheels and areas of corrosion. These honest cosmetic points are reflected in the overall presentation as a usable modern classic rather than a concours-restored example.

Offered with MOT until March 2027, extensive paperwork and unusually low ownership, this Calibra 16V represents an increasingly rare opportunity to acquire an iconic 1990s Vauxhall coupe with documented history, manual transmission and sensible recent structural expenditure already completed. This is not to be confused with an average example, whilst not concourse, it is in well above average condition and will make a very interesting daily driver or something for those special days. Either way, this is a good buy and can only appreciate in value as time goes on.
