The relationship between Fiat and Abarth stretches back to the 1950s, when Carlo Abarth built his reputation extracting remarkable performance from modest Italian machinery. That philosophy remains at the heart of the modern Abarth brand and arguably reached its peak with the 695 Biposto. Unveiled in 2014, the Biposto was conceived as the most extreme road-going Abarth ever produced. Stripped of unnecessary weight, fitted with extensive carbon fibre components and developed with genuine motorsport intent, it blurred the line between hot hatch and track car. Weighing little more than 1,000kg and powered by a turbocharged 1.4-litre engine producing 190bhp, the Biposto delivered performance that belied its diminutive dimensions and quickly earned a reputation as one of the most entertaining front-wheel drive cars of its era.
Offered here is a particularly desirable 695 Biposto Record, one of just 133 examples produced and identified by its numbered plaque, and finished in Giallo Modena, an official Ferrari colour. First registered in December 2016, it had covered just under 5,000 miles from new at the time of cataloguing. It features an impressive specification including an Akrapovič exhaust system by Abarth, carbon fibre Recaro bucket seats, mechanical LSD, lightweight 18-inch OZ Racing alloy wheels, climate control and the Sport mode system that sharpens throttle response and unlocks additional torque. Extensive use of carbon fibre extends to the front and rear splitters, mirror housings, side skirts, window surrounds, exterior door handles, badging and engine bay trim. The result is a purposeful and highly distinctive hot hatch that remains true to Abarth's lightweight performance ethos.
Today the coachwork presents extremely well, commensurate with its age and very low mileage. The lightweight OZ Racing wheels remain in excellent condition and are fitted with matching Goodyear Eagle F1 tyres showing good tread throughout. Inside, the cabin is exactly as Abarth intended, focused, minimalist and driver orientated. The carbon fibre bucket seats, lightweight trim, fabric door pulls and absence of rear seats serve as constant reminders that this is no ordinary Fiat 500.
The Biposto is accompanied by its original book packs, service book and both keys. The service record includes maintenance carried out by Fiat main agents and recognised Abarth specialists throughout its life, including servicing at Arnold Clark Fiat, Park's Fiat and Union Garage Abarth Specialists. Most recently, Thames Fiat carried out a service at 4,737 miles in March 2024, which included replacement of the timing belt and water pump. The Fiat will be presented to the sale with a fresh service and will have an MOT to the end of June 2027.
In summary, this represents an opportunity to acquire one of the most focused and collectible modern Abarths ever produced. Combining low mileage, limited production numbers, an exceptional specification and a comprehensive service history, it remains a highly engaging driver's car and a fascinating modern interpretation of Carlo Abarth's original lightweight performance formula.
