The Yamaha YZ250J was a revolutionary motocross bike, famous as the first YZ to feature liquid-cooling and Yamaha's Power Valve System (YPVS). It was praised for its explosive mid-top power hit but was noticeably heavy due to its unique, headstock-routed cooling system.

This bike has been offered to us by a very well-known vendor who has imported the bike from South Africa. Being the 1982 ‘J’ model, it was the first year of production with the YPVS, which significantly widened the powerband and the first year of water cooling on the 250. It is in very good condition and starts. Three bikes have come from the same place and display the number 82 who is believed to be a famous rider in South Africa but we have been unable to identify the rider.
