2015 Bentley Mulsanne Speed
“ One of the fastest and best performing saloons of all time - a car to the Bentley silent sportscar tradition! ”
Being offered as part of our curated auction in conjunction with the Rolls-Royce Enthusiasts Club Annual Rally at Kelmarsh Hall in Northamptonshire on the 26th – 28th June’26.
Background
The 21st century Mulsanne, which replaced the Rolls-Royce-based Arnage, revived a name the firm had last used in 1992. The firm’s flagship model for the decade it was in production, it was also Bentley’s first independently engineered model for eighty years.
That said, it still used the Rolls-Royce 6.75-litre V8, albeit heavily revised. Still, it had been stress-tested for half-a-century by then and no one is going to complain about having five-hundred-and-five reliable horses at their disposal, are they?
Handbuilt in Crewe, the Mulsanne incorporates 5,800 individual and barely-perceptible welds and is finished with 12 hours of polishing using lamb’s wool mops.
It rides on 20-inch wheels, whose movement is controlled by air suspension, and both the doors and boot lid are damped to provide an appropriately suitably soft close.
The Speed variant you see here (“for those who prefer to drive rather than be driven”, as Bentley put it at the time) is, as you might have guessed, the performance model. Offering the driver access to 530bhp and a staggering 811lb.ft of torque, it can teleport to 60mph in 4.8 seconds on its way to a top speed of 190mph.
It also offers a Sport mode for the suspension plus a dark tint to the stainless-steel grille, LED headlamps, 21-inch directional wheels, and twin exhaust pipes.
As Evo Magazine put it back in 2018: “The mild chassis tweaks tighten the Speed’s body control over the Mulsanne, and where the latter will pitch and roll the former remains a little more tense and upright when you approach a curve with a little more enthusiasm than perhaps your driver would.”
Overview
‘FG64 ENX’ is a Sequin Blue Bentley Mulsanne Speed that was first registered in January 2015. With seven services under its belt, or one for each owner, it still shows fewer than 34,000 miles on the odometer.
The seller has only owned it for nine months but we suspect that like many of the previous owners, a large part of his motivation for buying it was to enable him to tick the Mulsanne of his To Do list.
And perhaps you could too because this one’s an absolute belter – and it’s being offered with a very reasonable guide price and an even more reasonable reserve.
Estimate: £50,000 - £55,000
