Estimated Price: £2,000 - £4,000
- The OSSA 250 MAR is one of the most iconic classic trials motorcycles ever built. 'MAR' stands for Mick Andrews Replica, named after the British trials champion who helped develop the bike after joining the Spanish manufacturer OSSA in the late 1960s. The MAR quickly earned a reputation for being light, agile, and exceptionally capable in observed trials competition
- Mick Andrews worked closely with OSSA's engineers to create a machine that handled exceptionally well over rocks, streams and steep climbs. The partnership was hugely successful and Andrews won the European Trials Championship (effectively the world championship at the time) in 1971 and 1972. He also won the prestigious Scottish Six Days Trial three years in succession (1970–1972) aboard OSSA machinery
- This example is a one owner from new bike and has covered a mere 213 miles in its life. Our vendor bought the bike in August 1976 from Gordon Farley Motorcycles of Ash near Aldershot. He then proceeded to do just two trials with it and then retired from trials riding, using the bike to potter around his large garden
- As a result, the bike has remained very original indeed (except for a replacement clutch cable!) and is of course, matching numbers
- The bike is an amazingly easy starter and goes with the gentlest of prods on the first kick, quickly settling down to a nice rhythm and riding very well indeed
- Supplied with its V5C and the original sales invoice from 1976 for the sum of £585.73
- An excellent opportunity to purchase a remarkably original Ossa MAR that has covered just 213 miles in 50 years
