A Mini restored by an enthusiast in the past. Fitted with disc brakes and a lovely-sounding 1300cc engine. A very neat 1985 model with a neat, undamaged bodywork and beautiful new seat upholstery. It weighs just 620 kilos. The car is currently registered in Belgium. The smooth-running 1300 engine has plenty of punch, and power is transmitted to the front wheels via the smooth-shifting 4-speed gearbox. It was a revolutionary and characterful little car, designed for the British Motor Corporation (BMC) by Alec Issigonis (1906–1988) and manufactured in Birmingham. This car incorporated techniques that were new and pioneering for its time, such as a transversely mounted engine and front-wheel drive – a concept that is widely used today. The Mini was available with 850, 1000 and 1275 cc engines and in many different versions. In 2001, BMW, which by then owned the brand rights, unveiled a completely redesigned car: the ‘New MINI’. The Cooper models, which managed to win the Monte Carlo Rally three times, were legendary.
