Estimated Price: £40,000 - £50,000

Built in 2020 to an exceptionally high standard by the highly respected Alan Henderson Racing (AHR) using a rust-free '3.0' chassis from Italy, this outstanding Group 1 Ford Capri represents a rare opportunity to acquire a genuinely competitive historic touring car with impeccable provenance and proven race-winning credentials. The car was acid-dipped and built to full FIA specification with appropriate chassis strengthening in line with regulations, the front chassis legs upgraded to achieve correct race geometry and the latest FIA-specification welded-in roll cage was fitted. When complete, it was finished to a showroom standard both inside and out and presented in the iconic Eichberg Ford livery of Klaus Ludvig's Spa 24-hour-winning car.

Its competition record speaks for itself, having secured a class victory and second overall in the Tony Dron Race at Donington Park, where it also recorded the fastest lap. Further success followed with an outright victory and fastest lap honours at the Silverstone Classic, underlining the car's exceptional pace and competitiveness. The accompanying history file records the involvement of renowned historic race engine specialist Rik Wood, whose expertise helped deliver the formidable power unit that lies beneath the bonnet, freshly rebuilt and accompanied by the all important dyno sheet.

No-expense-spared attention extends beyond outright performance, with thoughtful additions including a heated windscreen, Stack Pro-Control instrumentation and wiring in place for a Racelogic VBox HD2 data acquisition system. By separate negotiation, an extensive package of spares may also be available, including wheels and alternative differential and axle assembly. Importantly, AH Racing would be delighted to continue their association with the car by offering the new owner ongoing race preparation, engineering and trackside support, ensuring this outstanding Capri can continue to be maintained and campaigned by the very team responsible for its exceptional build and proven success.

Presented with current FIA HTP papers (Competition Touring Car – Class CT35/GB) valid until 2031, opportunities to acquire a Capri of this calibre, with such an enviable competition history, comprehensive specification and the reassurance of continuing factory-level support, are increasingly rare. We encourage and welcome your early inspection to fully appreciate the quality of the build, the attention to detail and the outstanding preparation that make this one of the finest examples currently available.
