Estimated Price: £60,000 - £70,000

Developed as the lightweight competition derivative of the early long-bonnet 911, the original ST occupies a special place in Porsche's competition history combining reduced weight with increased performance and becoming one of Stuttgart's most successful GT competition cars of the early-1970s. Today, genuine factory-built STs can rightfully command seven-figure sums, leading many enthusiasts to commission meticulously engineered recreations that faithfully capture the appearance and driving experience of the original while benefitting from more modern mechanical components.

Offered here is a 1970 left-hand drive Porsche 911 Coupé, originally constructed at Porsche's Stuttgart-Zuffenhausen factory before first being registered in the UK on 25 July 1983. It has since been transformed into an outstanding 911 ST homage by respected Porsche specialists Pro-9, with the build reportedly costing in excess of £100,000.

The car presents in purposeful ST specification, finished in Nardo Grey with lightweight competition-inspired detailing including an RSR-spec centre-fill fuel tank, Minilite alloy wheels, RSR-style taillights and modernised LED headlights. The stripped interior continues the motorsport theme with lightweight sports seats trimmed and modified to accommodate harnesses running through the seats, an integrated roll-cage tied into the B-pillars, a Momo Indy steering wheel and a quick-shift gear linkage on the 915 5-speed gearbox.

Mechanical specification has been selected with equal attention to detail. Power comes from a later 3.2-litre Porsche flat-six producing approximately 250-255bhp, managed by an uprated ignition system, modern ECU and MAP sensor, and breathing through straight-through stainless-steel headers and twin centre-exit exhaust manufactured by Pie Performance.

The chassis has been comprehensively upgraded with 930 Turbo torsion bars, Bilstein Sport dampers, uprated trailing arms and 930 Turbo steering-arms featuring rose joints in place of rubber bushes. Braking performance is provided by Brembo four-pot front callipers, standard 3.2 Carrera rear brakes and an uprated master cylinder.

Following completion, the car has seen exceptionally limited use, covering only minimal road mileage together with a single private 911 track day.

Combining the unmistakable aesthetics of Porsche's legendary ST with carefully considered modern mechanical upgrades and a build completed by recognised Porsche specialists, this beautifully executed homage offers an engaging and highly usable interpretation of one of the marque's most celebrated competition models, at a fraction of the cost of an original factory ST.
