2013 Jaguar F Type S V6 Auto

“ A super car for the summer, drop-top elegance with plenty of power too. ”
The Jaguar F-Type manages to balance everyday usability and weekend thrills better than most – and it produces an exhaust note that’s hard to beat within this (or indeed any) budget.

Background
Like all the greats, the Jaguar F-Type started its life as a concept car, specifically the C-X16 that was unveiled at the Frankfurt Motor Show in 2011.

The production version arrived a year later – and for a change it looked remarkably similar to the car that had wowed press and public alike just 12 months earlier.

The first bodystyle was the achingly gorgeous Convertible and engines at launch were a brace of supercharged V6 petrol engines that offered a choice of two power outputs: the base model with 335bhp and a 0-60mph time of just 5.3 seconds (with the automatic gearbox), or a more powerful 375bhp version like the one you’re looking at here that slashes that time to a withering 4.9 seconds.

Not that Jaguar was finished because the Coupé, which arrived in 2013, ushered in even greater performance offering the option of the F-Type R which took barely four seconds to reach 60mph on its way to a top speed of 186mph.

Overview
Finished in Italian Racing Red with a Cirrus leather interior, this Jaguar F-Type Convertible has been in the seller’s care since 2021.

Fully loaded and offering all the conveniences the modern driver could ever ask for, it’s also been serviced 12 times despite only having covered 24,000 miles in its 13-year life.

With the full-fat 375bhp on tap, it drives as it should and makes all the right noises at all the right times, especially with the roof down so if you want to make the most of the coming heat-wave summer, you know what to do…
