The Triumph TR7, launched in 1975, broke with tradition through its wedge-shaped styling and modern design. Built by British Leyland, it aimed to attract new buyers, especially in the US, but early quality issues damaged its reputation. Available as a coupe, convertible, and later the V8-powered TR8, production ended in 1981. Today, the TR7 is finally appreciated as a distinctive chapter in Triumph’s history.

First registered in the UK on 5th August 1980, this Triumph TR7 is finished in British Racing Green, having originally left the factory in Blue. It still wears its Blue interior. The vendor describes the car's overall condition as ‘good’. The paintwork benefits from an older respray, although some micro-blistering is evident on the rear quarter panels and there are blemishes, notably on the boot lid.

The car has remained in the current ownership since 1988, demonstrating an impressive period of long-term custodianship, with 4 former keepers, in total, from new.

Accompanying paperwork includes MOT certificates dating from 1999 to 2002, together with a 2024 MOT certificate. The most recent test was passed with ‘no advisory’ items recorded.

Further evidence of the car's usability comes from the fact that it was driven more than 40 miles to the auction site. It is also supplied with a spare fan, a box of spare parts and a Lucas alternator, which was recently replaced after the original unit ceased working.
