It’s not that often that we get to offer a BMW 635 as original as this one, but when we do we rejoice, and this is no exception. Registered in March 1985 and supplied by dealers Green Bower BMW of Haverfordwest, Wales; this high-specification example is finished in Metallic Cosmos Blue with matching blue leather seats and carpets. The subject of much expenditure in recent years, including a professional respray in its original Cosmos Blue during 2018 - 2022, together with much servicing to the engine and gearbox, new brake discs and pads all around and four new Michelin 220 / V55 VR390 TRX Tyres (original specification when new). We all know how rare and expensive these tyres are! The BMW also boasts a full stainless steel exhaust system, but is otherwise standard and unmolested throughout, even retaining its original dealership-supplied number plates and rear window sticker. This gives you an idea, or it should do, of how well it has been cared for by its one owner from new - yes one owner, how good is that?

Its original BMW wallet containing all books were regrettably lost in a house fire (the BMW was nowhere near and totally unaffected). However, we do have copies of the service book which shows 14 stamps by the supplying BMW dealer ‘Green Bower’ up to 50,225 miles together with copies of invoices verifying the mileage up to 54,638. The original V5/C was also lost but we do have a partial copy and a new one has been applied for. The HPi certificate also confirms it as one owner.

The sleek, Paul Bracq-penned, four-seater 6 Series Coupe was introduced in 1976 as a replacement for the aging CS and CSL models. Code named E24, the newcomer borrowed heavily from the contemporary E12 and E28 5 Series Saloons and was of unitary, all steel construction. At launch, the range comprised two models - the 630 CS and 633 CSi; the bodies for which were manufactured by Karmann prior to production being taken in-house. The more powerful 635 CSi swelled the line-up in 1978. Production ran to 1990 when we had the Highline and even an ‘M’ version. This was probably the go to high end coupe of the time; even now it turns heads, and prices are beginning to rise very quickly for the right example like this one.

With values of 635 CSi models having soared in recent years, the chance to buy an original, one-owner example with superb provenance in ‘very good to excellent’ condition throughout is an extraordinary prospect, and one that will attract much attention, especially in such a desirable colour combination. Surely one of the highlights currently on the market and worthy of close inspection, we are sure you will not be disappointed.
