Ferrari Mondial 3.2

Ferrari introduced the Mondial as early as 1980. Designed by Pininfarina as a practical 2+2 and equipped with a mid-mounted V8 engine. The first generation was the Mondial 8, which was equipped with a 3.0-liter engine with two valves per cylinder; this was upgraded in 1982 to a four-valve engine (the so-called “quattrovalvole”) and subsequently, in 1985, fitted with the 3.2-liter engine from the 328. This engine delivered 270 pk and, in addition to being significantly sportier and more powerful than its predecessor, was also extremely reliable and relatively easy to maintain. A total of 987 units of this 3.2-liter model were produced in coupe form. In 1989, the chapter came to a close with the Mondial T, which would remain available until 1993.

We were recently able to purchase this Mondial 3.2 coupe, which comes with a number of unique selling points. We can safely say that we’ve never before seen a Mondial that was so exceptionally well-documented and maintained. This car truly has everything that excites a collector. Of course, the complete folder with maintenance and instruction manuals is included, but to top it all off, the car also comes with the red booklet. That’s right—it’s Ferrari Classiche certified!! Under the hood, we find the complete toolkit in like-new condition, with the jack stored separately in its leather case, and in the trunk, the battery charger and the red interior cover. As an extra, there’s also a 1:18 scale model in the same color combination as the original (with a sunroof), and the exclusive five-piece Schedoni luggage set is included. If you ever want to view the Mondial from a different angle, a set of 348 wheels with new tires is also included! As we said, it’s very complete…

The documentation is also extensive, consisting of various factory brochures and two thick folders containing all maintenance invoices; in addition, a folder has been maintained in which the car’s entire history has been recorded and described. Even the meetings and events in which it participated are documented with text and photos. These range from photos from the period when it was sold by Kroymans, to events organized by the Ferrari Club Netherlands, to its sale to the last owner by Forza Service. All owners since new are therefore known.

This Mondial certainly has a significant piece of Dutch history; the car was ordered by the (German) mother-in-law of the first Dutch owner from Auto Becker in January 1989 (purchase invoice available), and the Ferrari made its way to the Netherlands as early as 1992. It was sold by Kroymans, Munsterhuis, and Forza Service and has been excellently maintained to this day. Kroymans handled the certification; a report on this process was published in the Ferrari Club’s magazine, and this issue is also included. We believe this Mondial is concours-worthy, and we are proud to have been able to add this example to our collection!! It would be fantastic to find a new Dutch owner for this car who will treat it just as well as its previous owners did. The car, complete with all accessories and documentation, is waiting for you in our showroom.
