The MZ ES175 is a sturdy, East German 2-stroke motorcycle built by VEB Motorradwerk Zschopau. The classic 1950s/1960s variant features a 172cc single-cylinder engine producing 11.96 hp (8.8 kW), a 4-speed transmission, and weighs approximately 140 kg, reaching top speeds between 95 and 100 km/h. The ES 175 shared many standardized parts with its larger 250cc stablemate, famously known for its reliability.
This bike has come from a well-known local vendor who has owned it since 2013 and he is only the second owner since the bike came into the UK in 2007. It starts and runs as it should, and has had reasonably regular use and has featured in a magazine in recent times. In the file is a full UK V5, some previous MOTs, original GDR Registration Certificate, an invoice for work carried out on the electrics in 2025 and a clear HPi record.
