By 2010, Porsche was already regarded as a sports car powerhouse. Having developed and released not one but two world-renowned supercars, the Porsche 959 and Carrera GT, rumors began circling the automotive landscape that the German company was planning their next endeavor. Those rumors were confirmed upon the release of the concept car at the 80th Geneva Motor Show in March of 2010: The Porsche 918 Spyder. Porsche would take three years before unveiling the production model at the 2013 Frankfurt Motor Show in September, but Porsche's introduction was clear: their hyper car was here.
Boasting a marvel of technological wizardry, the 918 Spyder was Porsche's answer to the ever evolving and skyrocketing performance standards. The 918 Spyder used a 4.6-liter V8 engine based on the same underpinnings as the RS Spyder LeMans Prototype, but the real news was the supplemental drivetrain. Porsche added two large electric motors to boost performance: one to drive the front axle and another to supplement the engine. This all-wheel drive hybrid drivetrain yielded an astounding 887 horsepower and 944lb/ft of torque, good for a 0-60 time of 2.4 seconds. With Porsche producing only 918 examples of this hybrid hyper car, it is an exceedingly rare car that is packed with an immense amount of performance wrapped in an easy-to-use package. Complete with a carbon fiber chassis and bodywork, carbon ceramic brakes, advanced 7-speed PDK, and an all-electric range of 12 miles, the 918 was dubbed one of the “holy trinity” supercars alongside the McLaren P1 and the Ferrari LaFerrari, and it will go down in history as one of the greatest performance vehicles ever engineered. Only 297 Porsche 918s were built for the U.S. market. Even by today's standards, the Porsche 918's performance is still considered a benchmark and is exceptionally competitive to even cars built 12 years later.
This 2015 Porsche 918 Spyder was ordered by and remained with the same owner for 10 consecutive years. Optioned in the stunning Black over a Onyx Black leather interior with silver seat piping, Porsche 918 #587 was delivered new to Porsche Main Line of Pennsylvania. It was optioned with the Front Axle Lift System, the Carbon Fiber Interior Package (not commonly found on non-Weissach cars), and Custom Tailoring Option for painting the brake calipers a non-metallic silver. Also optioned was the extended 25 foot charging cable for more flexible use of recharging the Porsche 918.
Since its first delivery, the Porsche 918 has subsequently been serviced by the original dealer. In June of 2025, #587 was given a comprehensive maintenance service in line with the factory-recommended 10 year service, for which invoices are included. During this time, the major service included new Michelin Pilot Sport 2 tires, TMPS sensors, new spark plugs, ignition coils, an air conditioning system service, and a new MAP sensor along with a full list of fluids, filters, and other items with less than 400 miles on the odometer. Upon arriving at Canepa, it was evident that the car was kept in pristine condition. Upon arriving at Canepa, the car had accumulated 545 total miles since its original delivery. The “Canepa Difference” process completed a full mechanical and cosmetic inspection with both reports coming back excellent. With a complete PPF wrap on the entire exterior of the car, the original black paint looked stunning. While the 918 now celebrates its 12th birthday, it presents in new condition from the utmost care, maintenance, and low usage throughout its lifetime. One of the “holy trinity” supercars, with still mind-bending performance 12 years later.
