Here we have a lovely example of the Volvo P1800 S Coupe finished in white with black seats and red carpets, although it would benefit from new carpets to make perfect. The paintwork is fantastic having had an older restoration - most likely carried out in the US - to a very high standard, and still looks pretty much perfect today. The paint is complemented by the chromework, which again is pretty much perfect. The Volvo is sat on its original style of steel wheels, making it as close to factory standard specification as it can be. The top of the dashboard does have a couple of cracks in it but this is repairable or replaceable depending on your point of view. It even still has its original factory radio fitted. Looking at this example, you just know it’s been done right, things like the door shuts and panel fit are all as they should be, and possibly better than they were when new.

The paperwork is also very impressive with things like some early receipts and invoices, correspondence from Volvo US and what is very impressive is its dealer handover pack complete with its owner’s handbook, associated information and its original service book with unbelievably 42 entries in it. Most of these are handwritten, but there all the same with service details and notes. Amazing! The service book gives the details of the first owner in the US and tells us it came from Illinois when new. We also have an original owner’s workshop manual and a few more manuals as well. All great things to have with your classic, some of which are irreplaceable, so have a value in their own right.

These Volvos are becoming very rare, especially in this condition. This example is a credit to whoever restored it and needs to be seen to be appreciated so take the time and see what you think. This is well above your average example!
