Purchased directly from the factory by its first owner as a personal export, this Aston Martin V8 Volante was delivered new in Switzerland in January 1987, finished in Windsor Red with a Fawn leather interior piped in Dark Red, Beige carpets, and a Burgundy hood, according to the accompanying copy of the original build sheet. This exceptional and highly harmonious color combination is complemented by an even more remarkable specification: left-hand drive and a highly desirable manual transmission from new, among the few dozen examples produced in this configuration.
Its history is remarkably transparent. Maintained throughout its life by renowned marque specialist Roos Engineering-formerly Aston Martin Auto Center Safenwil-the car's stamped service book documents regular servicing every 2,000 to 4,000 km, while its mileage increased only minimally over the years.
Its first owner retained the car until 2008, when Roos Engineering sold it to its second owner, a Prime Minister of a Persian Gulf country, with just 17,018 km showing on the odometer. A major collector and passionate Aston Martin enthusiast who owned numerous examples of the marque, he kept the car in climate-controlled storage and drove it only very rarely. It received just one service two years later, again at Roos Engineering, with only 300 km added to the odometer.
Its third owner acquired the car in 2022, imported it into England, and had it professionally recommissioned. It subsequently passed its MOT inspections regularly, documenting only a minimal and steady increase in mileage, which now stands at just 20,555 km at time of cataloging.
