Here we have a pleasant example of the ever-popular MGB Roadster finished in red with black leather with white piping; always a nice combination. The MG is further enhanced by being a chrome bumper model, as it is a 1972 example, and sits on a set of MG Rostyle wheels with period GT mirrors on the front wings, wooden steering wheel, and a boot rack completing the look of a classic MG Roadster. It has been owned by our vendor for 12 years who is only selling due to age getting the better of him, as it does to us all at some point. He did drive it down to us from the top of Lancashire and enjoyed it on a brisk sunny day. The B is also fitted with a new hood, and a back bench seat trimmed the same as the rest of the interior.

The MG comes with some nice paperwork detailing various things done to it over the years, details of when our vendor bought it and some interesting bits and pieces. It has a tidy engine bay and boot area, and looks as a 1972 example should look with the odd mark and a lovely patina. The vendor has provided the following information:

“All chassis work carried out in 2015 by previous owner. I put engine in, new pistons, shells, head skimmed, etc. The oil pressure always is at 60 Psi on any run short or long. New hood in 2015, carpets and seats all done front and rear, good tyres, good radio cassette, never been out in the rain and always garaged, underneath clean, hand brake needs taking up a bit, only taken to 60 MPH. All in all, good average car for 53 years old, but sold as seen. I have owned it for the past 12 years the mileage of 14,800 (has slightly risen due to being driven to us) is genuine after rebuild in 2015.”

Being offered at no reserve, someone is going to get themselves a nice MGB that with a little bit of fettle will be a lovely example to enjoy.
