Introduced in 1965, the Rolls-Royce Silver Shadow represented a major step forward for the marque, combining traditional British luxury with modern engineering. Its elegant styling, sophisticated suspension and beautifully appointed interior helped establish it as one of the most recognisable luxury saloons of its generation.

This attractive 1968 example is finished in Metallic Blue with contrasting Cream Hide Leather upholstery, a particularly elegant combination. The exterior presents well, with bright chrome detailing and the unmistakable Rolls-Royce radiator grille. There are some age-related imperfections, including a small area of paint cracking and corrosion around the base of the windscreen, but the car retains considerable presence.

The interior is a real highlight, featuring beautifully figured wood veneers, cream leather upholstery and traditional Rolls-Royce craftsmanship throughout. Rear passengers benefit from folding picnic tables and footstools, creating the luxurious travelling environment for which the marque became famous.

Importantly, this Silver Shadow benefits from substantial documented specialist expenditure. In 2023, Mark Taylor RR & B Ltd, Rolls-Royce and Bentley specialists, carried out restoration and maintenance work totalling £8,339.10. Further work followed in 2024, including electrical repairs, replacement of the temperature gauge and thermostat, attention to the handbrake system, door adjustments and the fitting of original-type exterior mirrors.

During 2025, Classic Restoration and Services undertook further improvements, including replacement of the boot carpet, driver's door seal and attention to the door and window mechanisms. Most recently, in 2026, the spark plugs were replaced and the carburation adjusted.

Although the present keeper acquired the car approximately three months ago, it had previously belonged to his father for over five years, meaning it has remained within the same family for almost six years.

Displaying 81,895 miles, the Rolls-Royce is accompanied by a history file containing specialist invoices, previous MOT certificates, historic tax discs and insurance documents.
