1954 Mercedes-Benz 220 Cabriolet A (W187) The Mercedes-Benz 220 Cabriolet A is one of the most elegant open-top models in post-war Mercedes-Benz history. The introduction of the W187 series in 1951 marked a significant step for the brand. Along with the larger Mercedes-Benz 300, the 220 was among the first new six-cylinder models presented by Mercedes-Benz after World War II. The model combined sophisticated engineering with the classic design and high-quality finish to which the brand owed its reputation. The Cabriolet A, in particular, held a special place within the lineup. With a total production of only 1.278 examples, this version is now one of the rarer open-top Mercedes-Benz models from the 1950s. This 1954 example features a particularly fine two-tone combination of cream and dark brown, paired with a dark brown fabric convertible top. The light-colored fenders form a stylish contrast with the dark brown central section of the bodywork.
