Estimated Price: £22,000 - £26,000
- The Land Rover Series 3, produced between 1971 and 1985, represents the final evolution of the original Land Rover line before the arrival of the 90 and 110
- First registered in 1983, this Series 3 was supplied new via Land Rover dealer Skinners of Hastings, having had an upgraded rear bumper and hardtop fitted by them before delivery (no evidence of it having ever worn a tow hook)
- Bought as a surprise present for the grandson of a farming family in Sussex, it was of no real interest to him, so was only used sparingly for the first couple of years and then put into dry storage
- Having covered just 2,000 miles, the last time any road tax was purchased for it was in 1985
- Described as ‘completely as it left the factory’, it still wears its original tyres and exhaust; it surely must be one of the most original examples in existence - it should serve as a real template to restore others to the correct factory specification
- A real time-warp vehicle, newspapers from 1983 and 1985 were found/remain in it; the engine turns but will require recommissioning/servicing before running; our vendor has decided to leave it in ‘as found’ condition
