Malcolm follows in the footsteps of his father, Ray (Tony) Scatchard MBE, a visionary who began his career at Armstrong Siddeley Motors in the 1920s and later established Charles Sidney as a leading name in the retail motor industry.

Malcolm joined Charles Sidney Ltd in 1966, working alongside his father for over three decades. During this time, he gained invaluable expertise in sales and service, working with some of the most iconic marques in automotive history, including: Aston Martin, Lagonda, Alvis, Alfa Romeo, Lancia, Auto Union/Audi, Mercedes-Benz
After leaving Charles Sidney, Malcolm channeled his vast knowledge into consultancy, leading notable projects such as:
Establishing a used car operation for a major South West retailer, Helping set up a museum dedicated to veteran and vintage vehicles, Assisting in launching a business specializing in historic road and race cars
These experiences culminated in the founding of Gasoline Alley Ltd in the historic mill town of Bingley, West Yorkshire, on August 1, 2008.
