Metropole Sales is the dedicated purchasing and sales department of Metropole, specializing in a wide range of classic cars, vintage cars, youngtimers, and automobilia. Based in Druten since 2019, the company has built on the solid reputation of Potomac Motors, which was founded in 1999 and acquired by owner Roy Bolks. Today, Metropole Sales is a trusted name for collectors, enthusiasts, and anyone looking to buy or sell unique and authentic vehicles.
A Wide & Varied Collection
The showroom offers an exceptionally diverse inventory, from luxury limousines and exotic sports cars to quirky microcars, pre-war vehicles, tiny classics, and modern classics with a nod to the past. Visitors will often find cars that stand out for their rarity, design, or unusual character.
As owner Roy Bolks explains:
“I sell cars that I personally like, cars that stand out, not just cars that are good sellers. The cars I have in stock don’t necessarily have to be expensive.”

Amphicar Specialist
One of the company’s unique specialties is the Amphicar, the legendary amphibious car produced in Germany between 1960 and 1965. Fewer than 4,000 were ever built, and only a few hundred remain worldwide. Metropole Sales has handled the sale of over 100 Amphicars, making it a recognized Amphicar specialist in Europe. These rare models are often seen both driving and sailing at classic car events, thanks to Metropole’s passion for keeping these unusual cars on the road and water.

Alongside the sales department, Metropole is home to one of the largest car museums in the Netherlands, founded by entrepreneur Frans van Haren.
