10th Winter Romania Historic Rally – January 15–17, 2026
The Winter Romania Historic Rally 2026 is set to return for its 10th edition, taking place from Thursday 15 to Saturday 17 January 2026 in the heart of the majestic Carpathian Mountains, Transylvania — one of the coldest and most spectacular regions in Romania.
Led by rally director Paul Lacombe, alongside Simon Arpad, George Grigorescu, Régis Dufresne, and Marie-Laure Alain, the organizing team has prepared an exceptional program for competitors and fans alike.
Thrilling Classic Car Competition
This year’s historic rally will feature three unforgettable days of competition on snowy and icy roads, with a loop route based around the town of Covasna. Drivers will take on breathtaking stages across the frozen Comandaü plateau, offering pure rally excitement and challenging conditions that only winter can bring.
Total distance: approx. 380 km, Timed stages: 220 km, New special stage: a 30 km run, completed in both directions.
The event guarantees sliding, spectacle, and driving pleasure for competitors at every level.
Categories & Eligibility
The rally is organized under the auspices of the FRAS (Romanian Federation of Sports Cars) and welcomes a wide range of entrants:
VHC & LEGEND categories, VHRS and VMRS (2- and 4-wheel drive) for cars registered before 31/12/1999 (with or without PTH), Junior category for young drivers aged 16–20, Limited spaces also available for Modern and VIP/Opening Cars.
Whether you are competing in a vintage rally car, a classic sports car, or a legendary model from the golden age of motorsport, this event offers a rare opportunity to test machines in extreme winter conditions.
Rally Headquarters
The Clermont** Spa Hotel in Covasna** will once again serve as the rally’s headquarters — hosting competitors, officials, and administrative checks.
