1971 Lamborghini Miura P400 S to take Centre Stage

The iconic 1971 Lamborghini Miura P400 S is set to take centre stage at Broad Arrow’s forthcoming Global Icons Europe Online auction, running from 23–30 January 2026, where it is expected to attract significant international interest. One of the most celebrated supercars of its era, this beautifully presented example will cross the virtual auction block with a pre-sale estimate of between €1,600,000 and €1,800,000, reflecting both its rarity and enduring appeal among collectors worldwide.

Chassis No. 4809, Engine No. 30600 and Body No. 697 belong to a Lamborghini Miura P400 S, an evolved version of the original Miura introduced in 1969. The P400 S brought subtle visual changes, including bright metal trim in place of the earlier matte black surrounds, and an increase in power from 350 PS to 370 PS. Inside, it offered a more refined cabin with power windows, revised overhead switchgear and a new passenger grab handle, making the legendary supercar more civilised for everyday use.

As production progressed, the model continued to improve, with optional air conditioning added and, by April 1970, optional vented disc brakes. Completed on 9 February 1971, this example is one of only 338 Miura P400 S cars built. It left Sant’Agata finished in Rosso Corsa over Nero leather and was specified with the rare and highly desirable combination of factory air conditioning and late-series vented disc brakes.

The car was delivered to Spanish dealer Vela Murillo and registered in Tenerife on 26 February to businessman Santiago Puig, beginning a glamorous early life in the Canary Islands. The intense sun soon faded the original red paint, leading Puig to repaint the car in a lighter yellow better suited to the climate. Believed to be the first Miura in Spain, it carried registration “TF 69175” and appeared in period photographs, including a 1972 advertisement for the Playa de las Américas tourist complex.

Later, the Miura passed to fellow Spaniard Manuel Jacinto Borges Belza and remained in Spain until 1980, when it was exported to Switzerland with around 25,000 km recorded. In 1988, it was acquired by its second Swiss owner, who retired it from road use in 1993. The car then remained in storage for more than a decade, preserving its originality before a major restoration would begin.

Between 2006 and 2011, a comprehensive restoration was carried out by Graber Sportgarage AG, fully documented with photographs and invoices. The work included a complete rebuild of the original drivetrain and a conversion to the desirable SV-type split-sump lubrication system, improving reliability and oil control under hard cornering. Suspension, brakes, electrics and instruments were also rebuilt, with total mechanical costs exceeding CHF 235,000 including VAT.

Cosmetically, the body was refinished in its long-held Giallo Miura, while the interior was retrimmed in correct Nero leather. Further maintenance in September 2025 added over CHF 20,000 more investment. Now showing 38,500 km, believed original, and just over 2,000 km since restoration, chassis 4809 is offered as a beautifully restored, matching-numbers Miura, complete with five binders of history, its original maintenance book and dealer directory.

Rare 1985 Audi Sport Quattro SWB

The Audi Sport Quattro SWB stands as one of the most influential high-performance cars of the 1980s, created as a homologation special for Group B rallying. Its roots trace back to the original Audi Quattro of 1980, which transformed road cars with permanent four-wheel drive and a turbocharged five-cylinder engine. That pioneering model achieved major rally success, securing multiple manufacturers’ and drivers’ titles and establishing Audi as a force in world motorsport.

This exceptional car is currently available through our long-term partner, Joe Macari.

To push performance further, Audi developed the short-wheelbase Sport Quattro, designed for maximum agility and competition edge. It featured a 2.1-litre turbocharged 20-valve engine producing around 306 bhp, extensive weight-saving with Kevlar body panels, and became the first Quattro fitted with ABS brakes. With 0–60 mph in just 4.8 seconds and a top speed near 160 mph, it rivalled contemporary supercars and earned its fearsome reputation.

Production was extremely limited, with just 214 examples built in total. Of these, 164 were sold to customers, 20 were retained for Audi Motorsport, and the remainder were used for experimental and factory purposes, making the Sport Quattro SWB one of the rarest and most desirable performance icons of its era.

This example was delivered new in Switzerland in January 1985, finished in Alpine White over a grey leather and Alcantara interior. Imported to the UK in the late 1990s, it was later acquired by a former Audi works rally co-driver, who maintained it carefully and exercised it regularly, adding to its respected provenance.

Renowned within Audi UK and Audi Quattro Owners Club circles, the car has featured in numerous specialist publications and taken part in landmark events. Highlights include the ‘Quattro 30’ tour, where it was praised by the head of Audi Tradition, and winning Best in Show at the Bradford Classic, alongside appearances at many tours and gatherings.

Purchased in 2011 by Jay Kay of Jamiroquai, the car has remained in outstanding condition during his fourteen-year ownership. It retains its original Kevlar panels, a largely untouched interior with Recaro seats and period options, and benefits from meticulous servicing by leading specialists. Accompanied by full manuals, stamped service book, keys, and a comprehensive history file, it represents a superbly preserved example of this legendary Audi.
