1935 Buick Series 90 Sedan

30s Fords always seem to be an easy go-to for creating a street rod, but if you are ready to ramp up that luxury factor there is no better choice than a vintage Buick. These were the ultimate "gangster cars" that screamed upper class and they often offered larger motors which would be advantageous in certain professions for getting away quickly. From the exposed horns to the swooping fenders the overall design of these cars let you know someone special was riding inside. This 1935 Buick Sedan is a great car and to be quite honest a GREAT opportunity for somebody. We don't want to call it a project because what is needed to finish out this build is very limited. Due to being uncompleted however it is being offered up at a very discounted price. This is literally a great investment opportunity for someone because not only are these cars desirable but you are guaranteed to make money. Over 500 hours and $60K of hard cash has already been invested. It is a Series 90, Model 91 which was top of the line and all the paint/body and drivetrain has been completed. 1 trip to an interior shop and 1 trip to an exhaust shop would finish it out. The hard part is already done!

It all started with a solid steel body that has been repainted in a nice Dupont Base/Clear Gloss Black. It has a beautiful finish and all of the original style chrome and trim is cleanly mounted in place. The side glass is already in with new seals and the front/rear glass comes with it already mounted in the trim. Up top you will note the exposed wood frame roof but again, the Juliano's Top Kit is included which is the best money can by. If you note anything missing throughout our pictures you are pretty much guaranteed it does come with the car. It rides on McLean wire wheels with fresh tires and comes with the original side mount spare hardware and new matching wheels. There is an extensive collection of parts and items included with this car to complete the restoration. We have additional photos if there is anything of interest that you do not see among photos included here, please inquire.

Lift open the 4 piece steel hood from either side and you will find this beauty is powered by a GM 454 (.020 over) 4 bolt main V8 that offers plenty of power to get this classic rolling. It was professionally built with all the machine work done by Calvert Precision Engines. Every piece on the car is documented and it comes with a full list of parts and services used in its construction. The only thing mechanically it needs is to have the exhaust pipes, mufflers and hangers done. Exhaust manifolds are in place. Again, this is 1 shop visit and mechanically it is ready to go. The aluminum radiator was custom built by Buddy Griffin with Griffin Radiator and with the electric fan with shroud should have no issue keeping this big block running cool. Paired with the motor is a 700R4 overdrive automatic transmission that was built by Bright's Transmissions in Fort Worth. That converts power back to the Ford 9 inch rear that has all new bearings, seals, etc. The brakes have all been redone with discs up front and are power assisted. That includes new calipers, rotors, seals, everything. It also has power steering with a 1974 Nova subframe and a Detroit Speed swaybar. As if this 90 year old classic doesn't have enough creature comforts, it even has a Vintage Air AC system in place which is already plumbed into the dash! The car also has all new wiring from front to rear.

The interior of the car is really where it needs the most attention but even that has a large portion done already. Open the front or rear suicide door and you will see the dash is pretty much completed with AC vents, AC controls, an aftermarket JVC AM/FM/CD player, Classic Instruments gauges in a billet bezel and some of the stock trim. The column is a GM tilt set up and topped off with a 3 spoke woodgrain style steering wheel. There are the original bench seats in both front and rear but they do need to be reupholstered along with the door panels, headliner etc. That being said the stereo is all wired into speakers and window cranks all in place. All of the stock trim pieces for areas like the inside of the windows are included. The Series 90, Model 91 Club Sedan had the trunk in the humpback portion of the body and if that isn't enough extra storage it also has the rear luggage rack.

Being incomplete offers plenty of advantages to the next owner. You will be able to select the interior you would like and again, with very little investment have a freshly restored car to take out and show off. Not only will the value go up significantly but it has never been shown so you will be able to unveil the car to the world for the first time! The bodylines and slick black paint would make Eliot Ness or Al Capone proud so pick your side, grab yourself an imitation tommy gun and start hitting the car shows in this beautiful Buick!
