1988 Ducati 1000 SS
£22,495.00 | €26,240.89 | $30,651.98

This fabulous Ducati was built by Brancato Engineering and registered as new in 1988 with an age related registration number. Constructed with a Verlicci 900SS style frame and a new Ducati Mille desmo engine ( 1000cc ) that has an electric starter.

Special wheel hubs were made to receive Akront alloy rims that have Brembo brake callipers with Marzocchi M1R 38mm forks and Fornales rear shocks.

The bodywork resembles a standard 900SS with the exception of the aluminium ‘Monza’ style fuel tank, the rest of bike is made up of a combination of one off parts or Ducati 900SS OEM parts to resemble the original design.

The bike was built specifically for the first owner who took delivery in 1990, he kept it until 2014 when it passed to the second owner, an ex aircraft engineer who kept the bike until recently, he also performed a detailed overhaul in Jan. 2026 to more or less every important component, it also had a full service and new electronic ignition fitted. Details of this work are included in the history file along with the current MoT valid until 26th Jan. ’27, the current genuine milage stands at 23,585 miles.

The bike starts easily - is on the button and sounds glorious through the original style Conti exhausts. It remains in very fine order, with just a few minor paint imperfections.

This unique motorcycle is perhaps the ultimate Ducati Desmo, almost impossible to replicate today as Verlicci, the Italian company responsible for the design of the original 900SS frame are no longer trading and the component parts would be hard to source and very expensive. If you have ever lusted after a bevel drive Ducati but worried your right knee isn’t strong enough - now is your chance !
